Search Result template & Quick Search
About Blum Search Template Section
By default, the Blum Search Result template consists of one section: Search Result. This section cannot be removed, but it can be hidden on the Blum Search Result template.
Aside from this section, you can freely add or remove any other sections on the Search Result template.

Access Blum Search Template Section
On the top center bar, click on the dropdown button > Search.
Blum Search Template Section Configuration
Edit General
You can change the color scheme for this section by selecting the scheme here. To change the theme color, please go to Theme settings > Colors.
In General Settings, you can change:
- Color scheme
- Number of items per page: choose between 12, 24, or 36.
- Load product methods (Pagination, Infinite scrolling)
Edit Layout
You can easily customize the layout of this section:
- Items per row on desktop
- Items per row on mobile
You can also enable the Remove padding top and Remove padding bottom options to delete the spacing at the top and bottom between the section and the elements inside it.
Edit Filter
The Search Result section supports the Filter feature, which helps customers quickly sort out their desired products. The filter can be customized on the Shopify admin dashboard > Online Store > Navigation > Filters.

Enabling Quick Search
To unlock Quick Search settings:
- Go to Online Store > Themes in your Shopify Admin dashboard.
- Select your active theme.
- Click Customize to enter the theme editor.
- In the sidebar, find Theme settings and locate the Search section.
- Toggle Enable Quick search to ON.
Once enabled, additional settings will appear for full customization.

Quick Search Settings Explored
There are four main segments for Quick Search customization:
- General Settings – Color Scheme: Select from available schemes to match your brand. This option sets the overall style of search results, affecting background, text, and button colors so they blend seamlessly with your store’s look.
- Product Results Settings

- Vertical: Image above product info – a classic card layout.
- Horizontal: Image on the left, details on the right – great for wider screens.
- Show Price: Display products’ prices – essential for retail; can be hidden for B2B or special cases.
- Product Results Setting
- Items Per Row on Desktop/Mobile
- Card Direction:
- Collection Results Settings: Options mirror Product Results, but focus on collections:

- Card Direction: Vertical/Horizontal presentation for collections.
- Items Per Row on Desktop/Mobile: Same column choices as products.
Other settings like Image ratio, hover, rating, badge, vendor (product), show product count (collection), overlay, etc. will be automatically taken from “Product card” setting in Theme Settings
Empty State
When searches yield no results or first open, these options help keep visitors engaged:
- Suggested Links: Add a custom shortcut menu to popular or help pages.
- Suggested Products: Pin top sellers, new arrivals, or trending items.
- Reorder for priority.
- “Show more” to expand options.
- Add a custom heading or leave it untitled (content will still display).
- Suggested Collections: Recommend key product categories when no matches.
- Headings: Optional labels for suggestions – clarifies purpose, though lists work without them.
